Dress Code Policy

The following is the IN-Tech Academy 2021-22 dress code policy. The responsibility for student dress and general appearance rests with individual students and parents. Our students are required to attend school wearing our approved uniforms, which consist of the following:

For students in grades 6 through 8:

•    White polo with or without the school logo
•    Collared button-down shirts with or without the school logo in white or gray. Shirts are to be tucked in. 
•    Ties are encouraged.
•    Students may wear the approved zippered sweatshirt with the school logo. 
•    Students may wear solid white, khaki or brown sweaters or blazers over their polo/button-down shirts. 
•    Khaki slacks or skirts. No jeans, sweat pants, leggings or “jeggings.” No pants below the waistline (sagging). 
•    Skirts must be knee-length. 
•    NO OTHER COLORS MAY BE INCORPORATED INTO THE UNIFORM.

For students in grades 9 through 12:

•    Black slacks or skirts. No jeans, sweat pants, leggings or “jeggings.” No pants below the waistline (sagging). Skirts must be knee-length. 
•    Skirts must be knee-length. 
•    NO OTHER COLORS MAY BE INCORPORATED INTO THE UNIFORM.

 

Additional Guidelines:

Students attending IN-Tech Academy MS/HS 368 should come to school prepared. The full, complete uniform must be worn at all times including arrival to school and dismissal from school. Wearing attire bearing an expression or insignia that is gang-related, obscene, libelous, or which advocates racial or religious prejudice is prohibited. In addition, the guidelines listed below for clothing and manners of dress should be followed.

 

  1. Exposure of one’s midriff is not allowed. 

  2. No cutoffs, tank tops, halter-tops, hats or non-religious headgear, bandannas, scarves, vests, or hoodies may be worn in school.

  3. If possible, sneakers should be worn only during gym periods.

  4. Capri pants, shorts, tights and spandex leggings cannot be substituted for slacks.

  5. A full uniform must be worn even on the student’s birthday.

  6. Students who are out of uniform will receive one warning. Subsequently, STUDENTS WHO ARE OUT OF UNIFORM WILL SERVE DETENTION THE SAME DAY. DETENTION IS HELD FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SCHOOL. PARENTS/GUARDIANS WILL BE CONTACTED. After the third detention, parents/guardians will be called in for a conference.
